April 13, 2005 Justin was one of the recipients for the 2004 Patients of the Year award at RHI. I want to wish all the other patients well and their continuation of strength to get through their 'road to recovery'. I am so thankful that Justin, once again, was recognized for his hard work, determination and heart!! Justin was one of two prior RHI patients that spoke at the event. You can read his speech on the 'Update' link. He spoke from his heart and every word was deeply felt. The group picture includes all of the family and freinds that were able to be at RHI to support Justin and Corri EXCEPT for his grandparents Wayne and Anita. They were there somewhere and maybe at this time they were eating cake!! And just for the record...I am not posing!! RHI has a path of bricks there at their Rehab center. I believe it is called the 'Path to Independence'. Those that received a 'Patient of the Year' award each got their name on a brick which will be placed along that path. As you can see here, Justin will be included. Justin and Corri are holding their brick and the other picture is of one of Justin's good friends, Jim Graham. The woman inbetween Justin and Corri has been working very hard with Justin in his rehabilitation. Thank you Nancy!! The other picture is a donation from Justin and our family to RHI. My father and I built a balance beam and floor ladder for Justin for Christmas. He used both of these rehabilitation pieces at that time but when Christmas was here, he was past that stage. So, they have been given to RHI for others to use. Justin and Corri are also working on plans for other purchases and donations to RHI. |
| "An exception to every rule... The 'RULE' said that I would not be back to work for another three months in the office." Child's play...Love you alll, Justin |
| Over
the past couple months, Jeremy Keeton volunteered to help me with a project
and a vision. Jeremy built the structure, and Corri and I finished the details. I wanted to share with you all the finished product... something each and every one of you had a major part in. 03/25/05 |

![]() This is Justin praciticing with pegs during OT. (The week after the halo came off) |
![]() Can you believe this? Look at him! No halo, no assistance, walking and holding on to the bars! Thank you for your prayers!!! |
![]() This was taken the prior week to getting the halo off. I hate to add another photo with the halo on but, to me, it is such a beautiful and magnificant sight to see his hands on the piano. But, to Justin, it is a very frustrating because they don't move the way they used to yet. He also is not able to feel the keys the way you and I would. I pray for the continuance of your healing. I pray that one day, however soon or long off it may be that you feel the touch of your wife's face, our hugs, your every strengthening step and the keys again in a way that feels good to you. |
| THE HALO'S OFF!!! |
![]() We celebrated with shakes at DQ after the trip to the hospital. |
![]() Justin said it felt REALLY good to be able to lay his head back on his chair. |
![]() This photo was taken on our way to the hospital to get the halo removed. |
| If
anyone does not want their photo on the website, call or email me and I
will immediately remove it. If anyone has any other photos they would like to be included on the website, please email them to me. :) Thanks, Alicia, for passing along some photos!! |

Leaving on the morning of September 25th |
![]() Justin and Corri awoke to some crazy changes in hospital policies!! Waking up his last morning at RHI, Justin had silver nails and toes, a halloween lighted walker, and other practical jokes played on him. They had to send him home the right way!! Thanks RHI!!!! |
![]() Justin signs himself out! :) I loved the nails!! One of Justin's nurses walks him out the doors. |
![]() They are headed home!! |
The Night before they come Home/The Morning before they Arrive |
![]() Kathy, Rachel, Don, Judy, Colli, and Debbie had lots of fun getting the balloons ready! |
We stored all the balloons in Justin and Corri's office till the morning... which wasn't but just a few hours away by the time we got done. :) |
![]() Their fence, deck and front porch were lined with balloons and a special message attached. Justin had a dozen red roses waiting for Corri when they arrived home that morning. They were gorgeous! Along with those, was a special letter he had written her. |

| September 25th |
Family, Friends, Doctors, Nurses, & Therapists all gave Justin and Corri the welcome home they deserved!! |
![]() We all anxiously awaited their arrival along their street and in front of their house. What a sight it was to see my brother arriving home, getting out of the car, walking down his own drive way and to be surrounded by nothing but pure love and the Holy Spirit! We know that many of you would have liked to have been there that day. You were with us in spirit! Thank you for your love and support. |
